ARTIST STATEMENT
These prints bring to life "characters" who sometimes emote alone or interact with others. Each image creates a subliminal psychological space which is primal. What occurs is intuitively recognizable as universal and organic; felt in the body. The viewer brings his/her life to the interaction and comes to personal conclusions regarding the primitive narrative depicted which is nebulous as the last dream which fades as one wakes. Occasionally, words are included to indicate what the "characters" say to me. What do they say to you?
These images draw from the art historical contexts: biomorphic abstraction, surrealism and cartooning.
MEDIA
Ink, acrylic, spray paint, pencil paintings are scanned into Photoshop where some additional color, texture and type is added. The finished products are limited editions of three prints, (one reserved for the artist), on Epson Velvet Fine 100% cotton paper with Ultrachrome ink which is light fast for 60+ years.The prints are roughly 8.5 x 11 on an 11 x 14 sheet or 13 x 17 on 17 x 22.
